Use the vacuum pump and pump it up to about -20. If you suddenly release the vacuum, and can feel/hear a nice little thunk from the valve, the diaphragm is probably fully opening and closing. If you don't hear or feel it, it could be sticking. What you want to do then is remove the kombi valve from the car.

Details. Reviews. Off-road Use. Prop 65. Q and A. This is a Brand New OEM 3.0T PCV Oil Separator Pressure Control Valve. This unit controles the pressure from the crank case and allows the air to vent without allowing oil to escape. When these fail you can notice a loss in performance with a rough idle. OEM PART NUMBER: 06E103547AC. A massive problem with the CR TDI engines but especially the CAYC 1.6. It is an awful job to do, the unit is bolted across the back of the block above the drive shaft (which has to come out and the DPF has to be disconnected and moved to one side), typically we can turn one around in about six hours but that is six feet up in the air, doing one on your back doesn't bear thinking about. Its only, normally, two bolts that hold the EGR on so well worth having it off and cleaning it up in my opinion. Or the best option would be to get an EGR Delete done so you don't have to worry about the EGR system anymore and your car will get nice refresh air instead of recirculated exhaust gases.
