The Street Triple R (left) does have a small TFT combined with an LCD, but the superior 5-in. TFT on the RS is part of the model’s premium appeal. The RS also has a Track mode, which bears some discussion. In Track mode, Cornering ABS is discontinued, as is the link between the front and rear brakes.
Here we are in November, 2022, and Triumph is unveiling an upgraded Street Triple line that will be available as soon as April of 2023 and designated as 2024 models. The revised Street Triple lineup will consist of three models: the R and RS, which are currently offered, plus a new limited-edition Street Triple Moto2 Edition.
Triumph Street Triple is a motorcycle with a starting price of Rs 10.17 Lakh. It is available in India in 5 variants and 4 colours with high end variant price starting from Rs 12.07 Lakh. Street Triple is powered by a 765 ccbs6-2.0 engine which develops a power of 130 PS and a torque of 80 Nm. It has Double Disc front brakes and Disc rear brakes.
Triumph’s 1160cc 178bhp three-cylinder engine has serious muscle but has lost some of the old Speed Triple’s fabulous low-down grunt, in favour of more revs and power.
Street Triple's weight to power ratio (what really matters) is almost exactly 3 pounds per hp dry. The Trident's ratio is 4.75 pounds per hp dry. The 1050 CC Speed Triple's ratio is a hair under 2.6 pounds per hp dry. The 1050 Speed Triple is not a beginner bike especially for a beginner looking for more torque/power/gearing.
At the beginning of last year, Cycle News was invited to Spain to ride the all-new Street Triple 765 RS through the hills of Barcelona, then a half day on the wonderful Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Between that great day in 2017 and now, nothing has changed on the Street Triple, with no updates for 2018.
